No odor, never transfers onto clothing. Natural color on fair skin-never too dark. Exfoliate well in shower. Rub dab of regular, non-tanning lotion into kneecaps, elbows. Wait a couple minutes, then apply one pump at a time and allow tanner to be absorbed into skin. Leaving wet streaks will result in...streaks. No need to wait more than a minute or two before dressing.

Color does not fully develop until next day. Have ordered this for 5 years. Leftovers don't color as well a year later, so don't skimp in order to hold over a season.

I bought this on Ebay originally. I have Eczema, so self tanning is difficult for me. It always either breaks me out into rashes or cracks and peels. I tried Dove and Aveeno, but they both were too fragrant for my skin. This has very little fragrance, and is actually moisturizing. I love the color, never orange. I notice a difference after one application (takes an hour or two) - but typically I'll use it twice a day on my face. Highly Recommended.

My search for the best self-tanner, one that leaves skin looking sun-kissed without an orange hue, has lead me to this product. I tried a countless # of self-tanners, from drugstore brands to pricey high-end ones, and none compared to the results I received with this product. This leaves skin with a natural looking tan, a color that I would achieve by spending hours out in the sun (I am olive complexed). I initially used this 3 nights in a row (apply before bedtime) to achieve my desired color and have been re-applying twice weekly to maintain. There are 2 products that are "recommended" that you use before applying the bronzant that I didn't bother wasting my $ on since this is pricey enough (hence the 4 stars).

I have been using this tanner for probably 5 years now. I have tried probably 15 different brands & this is by far the best. With regards to streaking, you have to rub the lotion in. I run the water in the sink while applying & wet my feet, ankles & knees as well as anywhere where I want to feather out the lotion.

The lotion is tinted with a greenish base to offset the orange color that tends to occur with self tanner giving a very natural color. This tinting will wash off as would any lotion. You'll notice it because it is tinted.

In several applications you will have a medium to dark tan depending on your skin color.

My medicine cabinet is chock-full of self-tanners, bronzers and "subtle glow" lotions, and none of them hold a candle (UV ray?) to Dove's gradual tanning lotion. After one or two 'applications', your tan is already full-on and streak-free. I apply it liberally because it is a lotion, after all -- It doesn't deliver a yellow- or orange-brown, but a red-brown, which is the most natural tan of all. The best part is that it dries quickly and doesn't carry any of the negatives that accompany regular self-tanners, so no major stains on your sheets, horrid smell or major damage if you DO flub while applying it. It's inexpensive, too. I bought it on a whim in the drugstore and it turned out to be a miracle! You really will be OK with reliquishing other self tanners and tanning beds once you discover this.

WOW! I used to have to put self tanners on 2 days in a row to get a dark color. 1 application of this and I was shocked to see that I had a DARK tan. A GOOD dark tan that looked real on my Irish skin. And it lasted about a week before fading away. I did not even get the crackle / lizard breakup I typically get from tanning lotions. I try every new self tanner on my quest for a truly brown tan -- this is a Great product.

Finally a self-tanning lotion that allows you to have this really nice tan without looking like you applied one of those self-tanning lotions. Other lotions I have tried so far indeed resulted in somewhat of a tan but never quite the dark and natural tanned look that you come home with from your week on the beach in the Caribbean. I don't recommend this tanner based on my experience. Aside from the fresh, great scent... it was one of the worst self-tanners I've ever used. The thick, gel-like consistency made it take a long, long time to dry (sometimes more than an hour), therefore, if you put on clothes or sat down while it was still drying, you wouldn't be tan in that spot (basically, like a farmer's tan). Furthermore, even if you are fortunate enough to get it on correctly, the color fades unevenly... making you look "dirty"--pale in some places, orange in some places, and brown in others. It also comes off on your towels. Finally, it also made me itch terribly on my neck & back (so I don't recommend this to people with sensitive skin like me).

I tried this tanner because my previous tanner, Neutrogena Sun Fresh Foam was discontinued. I'm now trying to find another foam... without a bronzer. I hate the bronzers. In the meantime, I'm going to try Neutrogena Sun Fresh lotion. I'm hoping that it will have similar results to the foam that was discontinued--not the darkest tan, but enough color to look healthy... and natural.
