Tanning Bed Acrylics: Acrylics for tanning beds are the clear glass or plexi-glass that covers the lamps and protects the person tanning from touching the hot lamps. Acrylics made for tanning beds are UV transmitting. This means that the plastic allows ultraviolet light to pass through the acrylic. Do not buy a clear plastic sheet of glass at a local plastic company. Most of the plastics these companies carry have a UV coat that "prevent" ultraviolet light from passing through.
