I was thrilled to see this offerred on Amazon. Since moving to a sunny clime, I'd only found 1 salon near me that carried this brand and they seemed to know nothing about this particular product, so I had been using the "For Faces" version (which isn't water-resistant) because they told me that was my only choice. So far, I love this and have been a big fan of the brand for a very long time! It would be great if Calif. Tan made a smaller size product so I could take it through airport security.

I bought this product at Palm Beach for over 140.00, and The tanning rate is great, I plan on buying more but only from Amazon web site, due to the fact of the great price and fast shipping.

This lotion is perfect for those who do not enjoy thick ones.

A little goes a long way, and you do see results!

When you step out of the tanning booth or crawl out from the bed, you still feel just as fresh as you did when you got there!

Regardless of whether you are trying to make your tan last longer or just want a really great lotion, this lotion is IT! It's great. I use it all year long -- even when I'm pasty in the winter. It's just a great moisturizer and isn't greasy or too flowery smelling.

Ever since my father (age 82) was recommended Total Immersion for a body lotion for his drying skin I purchased it too. My husband and I have been using it for about two years now. I use it as a body lotion after showers and baths. It's hydrating, not greasy, and makes my (aging) skin look and feel younger. It's great in the summer after sun bathing or in the winter months. The pump bottle is easy to use and take on trips. I love it!

I used to indoor tan in 2003-2004 and I ONLY used California Tan Beach Bum Rum Step 2. Now, come 2009, I chose to join a tanning salon again. I was aghast to find out no salon carried this product. I called 10 tanning salons in my area to find this product, and none carried this product. One tanning salon told me they didn't carry it because it was on older product circa 2004-ish. Anyhow, I come to Amazon and here it is! Now, to the review..

I am very pale. I chose to start with Beach Bum Rum Step 2 vs. Step 1. I've never tried Step 1. Good decision starting with Step 2! This lotion does not turn me orange, it turned me a beautiful light brown color, and I'm getting darker brown each time I go to the salon and use this! The smell is heavenly, coconut-y and fruity. I think the price of this product is such a great value. The tanning salon was selling other products that cost up to . Nuh-uh, no way. I will stick with this lotion that is under and turns my pale, almost translucent, white skin a beautiful tan/brown color. I did burn the first few times I went, given my pale skin, and I have never peeled from the burn. I attribute the no-peeling from the burn to the grape seed extract in this product. Any product I've ever used for my skin that has grape seed extract has always kept my skin soft. If you're looking for a GREAT indoor tanning lotion for a great price, this is it! The bronzers are great, the smell is yummy, it spreads nicely over skin, the color it's turning my pale skin is lovely, and you can't beat the price! One last thing I will say that's not a huge deal to me is this. I have noticed it can leave light stains near the underwire of my bra, but it washes out when I do laundry. It also can stain my fingernails, but also not a biggie to me. When I take a shower (which you should wait at least 2 hours to do after tanning) my fingernails no longer have the stain on them. Don't let this detour you! Buy Beach Bum Rum Step 2!!

This product was recommended by the tanning salon I go to. It is one of their "cheaper" products (with a 20% discount it still comes to about --which is more than what is advertised here). Since I am a beginning tanner (I usually go in the bed about 10-12 minutes at a time), I figured I would give it a try. It has a nice rum-coconut smell. It has sunless tanners (but no streaks or orange-color) which helps you see results right away--within the hour. It has a bit of golden glittery-shimmer and makes your skin feel soft. I haven't tried any high end products. The only other things I have tried are Hempz, Lotion Potion and Tropicana's tanning bed formula. I like this better than the other three. I have even used it pool-side since it makes my skin look so good. For the price--definitely can't go wrong (unless you want something unscented).

This item is amazing they sell it at my tanning salon and it is wonderful. However you will need to make sure to use a very loose long haired brush (all over face color type) kabuki brushes tend to be too dense but I would actually recommend buying a dusted brush (the kind salons use to get hair off of your neck available at beauty supply stores) that way you can use it on your face, legs, arms, chest..... you get the point! P.s. it has a little bit of glitter (more like glimmer) as how tiny the pieces are.

I love this tanning lotion, not only am I of Irish descent and is very faired skin but my skin is ver sensitive to products. I used Paint It Black and it was awesome I tanned in a couple of sessions and I didn't have to worry about skin irratation. The smell is incredible and it leaves your skin silky smooth to the touch. After using Paint It Black I will never go back to normal tanning lotion. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

I absolutly love this lotion! I've had the hardest time getting my arms to tan and catch up with the rest of my body, I started using Pain it Black the day it came in the mail and after only using it a week my arms have fully caught up with the rest of my body and are actually getting darker! Another benifit of Paint it Black is that it doesn't have that tale tale smell of tanning beds, it has a suttle fresh scent to it! I am planning on purchasing more when I have finished this bottle!!!
